An origami creation of Nayana Sara made out of newspaper

Direction of Thoughts

“The art of folding paper, endeavoured, powered by its historical, cultural roots to obscure perfection in the material form.”

Origami is the Japanese art of paper folding. "Ori" is the Japanese word for folding and "kami" is the Japanese word for paper. The aspect of joining a metamorphosis inspired theme along with the ancient art of Japanese origami is a challenging prospect but sure to deliver exiting results.

When thinking about metamorphism my thoughts travel afar, observing and analysing different landscapes. My mind is evoked by the aspect of an evolving landscape architecturally. For example my recent trip to Milano I captured many historical sightings of architecture, such as the classic curved pillars and masterful domes. This can be which compared to some of the more comtemporary features of the city such as the newly refurbished, clean sharp architecture. I would like to take inspiration from the transcripts of architecture to influence the shape, structure and form, and incorporate interactive features to allow a metamorphic transformation of the final outcomes.
